Wow, A+ on the instructions, helpful tips, and overall recipe! When I sampled the warm shortcake out of the oven, I broke into a joyous giggle, they were SO good! I don’t think the strawberries needed as much sugar, but I did have the advantage of using fresh, local Early Glow variety here in Michigan that have plenty of sweetness and tons of flavor. Definitely the best strawberry shortcake I’ve ever made!

These are excellent! Made four batches for a big birthday party, tasted summery and fresh. It was a good option as a couple guests have egg allergies.
Have made them since a few times, have used the Cuisinart and a hand pastry blender, both work well.

I used your recipe last month and found it to be the most delicious shortcake to date! I found my family going through the kitchen to grab pieces of plain shortcakes the next day! That’s a first. I also enjoyed your butter tip with the freezer & grater, worked like a dream. Never going back, lol.
Baking it again tonight & realized that I had not saved the recipe. So I searched using the butter tip to find you & here you are!
This time I saved it!

biscuits came out amazing. Strawberries were perfectly macerated. My husband loved it. That says a lot as he is very particular.

Have made this recipe many times and it doesn’t disappoint. This time I made a double batch, and while they looked amazing and thought they would be tasting as good as they looked, they had a very bitter taste to them. Was wondering if I added too much baking powder or baking soda could cause that taste. Eat it because of the. Is it because I doubled the batter?

Oh yum – this is the absolute BEST shortcake I’ve ever had! My son said the same thing. We are lucky enough to still have some strawberries in our garden and wanted to have them with shortcake. Your recipe is now a keeper – I’ve tried a few others that were good but honestly your recipe is just outstanding. The only thing I did different is refrigerate the dough after I turned it out and rolled into a ball. Hot day = even hotter kitchen. Took it out after 30 minutes and it was easier to work with. Will make this again but next time use blackberries which are just now ripening here. Thank you for sharing your delicious recipes.
