This recipe was delicious! We’ve regularly made your buttermilk pancake recipe, but we thought we’d try something new. I did swap about 1/4c of the flour for fresh milled. We will definitely be making again!

The clumps of batter were not fine and there were inedible clumps of flour throughout the cooked pancakes.

I recently started my own sour dough starter and I needed recipes for my discard. This pancake recipe is so good it has replaced my buttermilk pancake recipe. I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to let you know how good these are!

In reply to Bruce Kovacs. Hi Bruce! If there was water on top of your discard it was likely too old to be using for this recipe. You would want to feed the starter again and wait for it to fall before using that discard. I'm glad you ultimately enjoyed the recipe though. :)

The pancakes were excellent but thin. Should I have drained the excess water off of the starter? Obviously, I am new to sourdough.

The bottom line, though, is they were excellent and I like they was you present the recipe. Very clear and mistake proof.

I have tried a lot of sourdough discard recipes especially for pancakes and this one is the only one that I have tried that is actually very good. The pancakes aren’t quite classic buttermilk pancakes but they are very very close. Fresher discard is the secret. That six week old starter discard that might be in the back of your fridge won’t really work like you want it too.

This Sourdough pancake Recipe is the BOMB! I happened upon it on YouTube searching a couple years ago. and although the pancakes in her video burned i still tried it! It’s the best recipe I’ve ever tried! Easy and extremely soft fluffy pancakes every time! I’ve printed it out to have easily. Thank You!

Best pancakes ever!! I’m not really a big fan of them typically… But these are so fluffy and tasty and even better, made with sourdough!!! Everyone in my family raved about them! They take a little extra work but the paid is worth it! Fun to make and delicious to eat and share!
