Delicious. I would probably add a little more peppermint next time but that’s just because I’m a big fan of peppermint. My husband and I even tried it with out the topping and will probably be our go to brownie recipe from now on. Thanks!

Wanted an alternative to cookies with a peppermint twist….Sam’s recipes always turn out fabulously. These were no exception! Very fudgy with a whisper of peppermint and heavy on the chocolate. These are going to be permanent in my holiday baking recipes from now on!

Was looking for a quick snack to share with three of our neighbors. I made this today and it was wonderful. I actually cut and shared while the chocolate ganache topping was slightly warm. Very rich and satisfying. We are not big fans of peppermint yet hubby and I loved it. I’ll be trying this again after the holidays with no peppermint. Thank you again for a great recipe. In reply to Ashley. Hi Ashley! I think these should freeze just fine as sliced squares. And yes, a double boiler will work great for making the topping. As for a 13x9 pan, yes you can make the brownies in one (the bake time will definitely need to be reduced) but something to keep in mind is that the chocolate topping will be much thinner on this surface area. Since the brownies themselves are thinner, too, this may not be much of an issue, but it will be more difficult to do a nice swirl on top (not a huge deal necessarily!). If you'd like, you could always increase the chocolate (probably by 50%). I hope that helps!

a couple questions! can I freeze sliced squares? and I don’t have a microwave, would i make the chocolate topping in a double broiler instead? could I make this in a 9 x 13 pan so they’re thinner and adjust the baking times? thank you!
