Delicious! By far by favorite desert! However don’t last very long so eat in 3-4 days if left unrefridgerated

Hi Lisa! I’m glad you enjoyed them! You may be able to get away with using ice water. They likely won’t be as tender. πŸ™‚

myvSIL made these for Thanksgiving. they were heavenly! better than regular pecan pie.
I am wondering if I could make them without the heavy cream? And use water instead? It’s for someone who can’t have dairy.
thanks!!!

Hi Chris, sorry to take so long to reply, my gluten free crust was a little difficult to work with but not terrible, it came out wonderful using Measure for Measure in place of the all purpose flour, It was the only change I made, it was a big hit at Thanksgiving, especially by the gluten free crowd. Good luck and I am sure it will turn out great for you

Hi. I made these and they were wonderful. Can I use the crust to bake it in a muffin pan and make it into Pecan Pie Bites and use the filling?

In reply to Marie Moore.

Yes, just a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips added before cooking! So good!

Hi Janis. Did you add the chocolate chips to the mixture and were they semi sweet?

Hi Melissa! Unfortunately I am not familiar with high altitude baking so I can’t say for sure if there would need to be any changes. If you do try them I would love to know how they turn out. πŸ™‚

Hi Shelly! While that sounds delicious, I haven’t personally done it so I can’t say for sure how it could be done.

Hi Rebecca! While the crust for pecan pie bars *could* be prepared without a food processor (using a grater or pastry cutter or rubbing the butter into the mixture), it will be very, very difficult to work together. This is a dry dough that really benefits from the power of a food processor!

Hi Chris! Unfortunately I have not had anyone comment that they have tried a flour substitute. I would think a 1:1 gluten free flour could work, but I haven’t tried it to know for sure. If you do try it I would love to know how it goes. πŸ™‚
