You’re welcome Sam, thank you for all the effort you’ve put in to building this site. BTW, one last comment on the Orange cookies – We added a few drops of Red & yellow food coloring to the icing for a mild hint of orange color.

It is difficult to overstate HOW GOOD these cookies are!! We’ve made many of the cookies on this site – Strawberry, Brown Sugar, Fudge Pop Tart cookies, the Oatmeal Creme pies, the Chocolate Carmel Pretzel cookies, Buckeye cookies – and many others to rave reviews.. but NONE of them came close to the impact that these seemingly simple cookies had. They are THAT good!!

We were curious if adding orange extract to the mix would make any difference – it doesn’t. The Juice and Zest are excellent, and more than enough flavor. Lastly, we chose the #4012 navel oranges. They are large enough to provide enough Zest and Juice for one batch.

In reply to Sam. I did refrigerate the dough overnight and the next day it was a little crumbly, even once it was room temperature. but I just had to kneed the cookie dough. And the cookies were a hit

I was just going to make the cookie dough today and bake it tomorrow but I saw that this recipe doesn’t have refrigerating time. I was wondering if I could still refrigerate it and then leave it at room temperature before baking

I decided to make a batch of these to go along with your Key Lime Pie cookies and Lemon Meltaways. I’m don’t usually love orange flavored sweets but these were by far my favorite of the group. The frosting is to die for. I have to say though, the Key Lime Pie cookies were easily the favorite amongst family and colleagues. Thank you so much for sharing with us!

Hi Sam, thanks for getting back with me quickly last night about the sourdough bread! I have a question about cookies. I’ve made several of your cookie dough recipies this week and most of them call for a cup of butter. The sticks of butter I use say that two sticks = a cup. When I measure the butter with a scale the grams of the butter are off by 40-50 grams (depending on the brand of butter I use). I know that weight measurements are more accurate but I just want to confirm that I should go by the weight and not by what the the package of butter says lol!
