I love to bake these cookies! So tasty and perfect every time. I do have a question. If I ran out of time and had to stop baking, can I put the rest of the dough in the fridge or the freezer? Thanks for this great recipe.

These are phenomenal! They tastes amazing & they’re soft & chewy. But they did great with the cookie cutters too.
I will use this recipe for the rest of my life.
I did have to add about 1/4 cup of flour because the dough was too sticky and we couldn’t get the shapes up.
But after that, they were perfect.

I tried them in place of my chilled recipe. They don’t have as much flavor. Works in a pinch, but not as good as chilled.

The easiest recipe!! I make mine with King Arthur Measure for Measure GF Flour and they are perfect every time (I think I just put my 10th batch in the oven) I even experimented with cocoa powder and peppermint and they baked up beautifully. Thank you for making a daunting task joyful and delicious!

This recipe has replaced the “traditional” family recipe I’ve used for years! Sam, your recipe is so much better and my cut outs do not lose their edges, spread, or puff too much. I actually make anise sugar cookies with it, using 1t anise extract and 1/4t vanilla. I frost with your recipe as well but use almond extract instead of vanilla. Thank you!! My go-to Christmas cookie recipe from here out.

I make sugar cookies every Christmas. I’ve tried different recipes and they’re all pretty good / standard. These ones are delicious! They will be even better once I ice them. This is my new go-to recipe! I love that I didn’t have to chill the dough, and they’re still crisp and clear!

In reply to Marcia. Hi Marcia! For storing the dough in the refrigerator I would really recommend my regular sugar cookies. That dough can be kept in the refrigerator for several days. :)

I know it is no chill. But would it be all right if I made it and kept in the refrigerator for a few days then roll and cut the cookies? Or should I bake the cookies? Keep them in the refrigerator and then ice them in a few days which do you think would be better?
