Hi Maria! The crabmeat and panko get added in step 2. 🙂

I sent this recipe to my 76 year old. He loves crab cakes but this was his first time ever making them. He said the recipe was easy to follow and these were the best crab cakes he’s ever had! Thank you for sharing this!

Hi Brady! There’s a recipe list below the article that tells you exactly what you need. These amounts are also repeated in the step by step instructions below that. 🙂

Great recipe. Made this tonight for my family and everyone loved it — even my mother went back for seconds and she doesn’t normally like crab cakes.

Hi Joann! You are supposed to mix everything together and then in the next step add your crab meat and bread crumbs. 🙂

Super easy recipe to make, with excellent results! I must recommend chilling the cakes for at least 30 minutes prior to baking as per the recipe, I was too impatient and only chilled mine for ten minutes lol. It still came out great but they did fall apart easier. Apart from that, this was restaurant quality. Can’t wait to make this again! Thank you for the recipe.

I accidentally whipped all ingredients together before my crab meat. What should I do to correct this.

In reply to Stefanie.

Hi Stephanie perfect moist salmon cake recipe. Family recipe tweaked to avoid the dryness.

4 cans of boneless skinless salmon
1 1/2-2 eggs
3/4 cups of panko or saltines
1/4 cup diced onion
1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of parsley
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
(I also like to use a little paprika)

Heat oil prior to frying cooked both sides until golden brown (approximately 6-9 min)

Unbeknownst to me, I brought them to a gathering and there were a couple people from Maryland who said they were amazing. Thank you for the recipe…sorry I deviated, but I saw another recipe with the sofrito I used, but wanted to use your recipe. I usually pan fry, but from now on baking them.

This is hands down the best crab cake recipe I’ve ever made. I was thought they had to be bathed and butter to taste delicious, but baking news in the oven, with just a dab is really so easy and so rewarding!

For salmon cakes follow the same recipe, just use canned salmon instead of crab. We usually put a bit of rosemary in salmon cakes.

Sam, this is a super star recipe!! I made it for dinner tonight (exactly as written), it couldn’t be easier and my whole family loved the crab cakes, even saying they are better than most restaurants. Thanks a ton for sharing!
