This is my go-to cookie recipe now for any pot-luck, book club, card night etc. My husband asks me to make these specifically hoping there are leftovers!

Absolutely fabulous recipe. I am gluten free and they bake perfectly with gluten free flour. I also NEVER have lemons so I substitute 1& 1/4 tablespoons of lemon extract. They come out perfectly every time

In reply to Tammy Bremer. Hi Tammy! You shouldn't have any issues freezing the dough. I would probably wrap each dough ball individually in plastic wrap and then store in a freezer bag. :)

Can I make the dough ahead of time, roll into balls and freeze for later?

In reply to Sean Doolin. Hi Sean! You need a lot more lemon juice to actually add a real lemon flavor which is why I opt for extract here. I'm not sure how it would work to try and use just lemon juice.

These cookies are delicious! I brought them to a baby shower and they were a big hit. The mom to be was sad that there weren’t any left! Your recipes are my go to!

I love your classic brown butter chocolate chip but this recipe for lemon cookies fell short for me. I felt like they were almost to eggy tasting and lacked a true lemon flavour they cookies didn’t really bake the same way a traditional sugar would. I measured all ingredients but still had a bit of pooling of butter underneath the cookies. I also noticed the flour seems high for the ratio of butter. My cookies turned out just ok but I wouldn’t make this again. I think it needs a few more tweaks to make it better.
