Hi Lola! I haven’t made an apple pop tart, but I do have an apple turnover that has all of the same components that you might like. šŸ™‚

Hi Laura! It contributes to a glossy finish and a richer mouthfeel, but you can absolutely leave it out if you need to šŸ™‚

So good! I used natural Blackberry Jam for the filling instead of the strawberry (which also made the process quicker). I did not use corn syrup for the icing and it turned out just fine. Just added a bit more milk like suggested above. Thanks for the recipe it is a family favorite!! <3

These are amazing! They taste more like toaster strudels than a pop tart, but that’s an upgrade imo! delicious crust!!

Hi Sue! You shouldn’t have any issues freezing these with the frosting on. I don’t think it will melt off in the microwave. šŸ™‚

I really enjoy your site. Thank you. I’m going to make your pop tart recipe in the morning only use blueberry pie filling I canned. I know I will be freezing them. Just wondering if I can frost them before freezing? Also then for heating them up before eating will the frosting melt off of them in the microwave or oven?
Thank you! Look forward to trying them!

Hi Bridget! You can omit the corn syrup, but your frosting won’t be quite as shiny or firm. For the filling, we’d estimate you’d need about a cup of jam. Hope you love them 😊

I do have a few questions, Like I said I don’t have all the supplies and don’t want to go buy corn syrup that I substitute it for. Also for the filling if I were to use jam instead of strawberries how much would you recommend? Thanks for sharing your tasty secrets!

Thanks Sam I did find the dough was a little dry and maybe perhaps add more sour cream? I will try it again and will let you know.

Hi Denise! They shouldn’t look wet after baking. If the crusts were rolled a little bit thicker they may have needed just a little extra time in the oven. I do have a video for this recipe if that helps. šŸ™‚

Hi Rachel! They would just need another minute or so in the oven to bake from frozen. šŸ™‚

My question is should the bottom layer look a little wet because of the pie filling I used and can I put them back in the oven before I put the icing on them. It did taste really good but just unsure about how it should look inside.
