These are WAY too sweet. Very good recipe but even my kids told me they are too sweet. The cookie could maybe have the sugar reduced by 1/3 at least. They turned out great but reducing sugar is probably best.

In reply to Jeremy brumley. Hi Jeremy! These are a sweeter dessert by nature. They are supposed to mimic the ones you can find in the store. They are typically not meant to consume a lot at one time. I haven't tried less sugar so I can't say for sure how they would turn out. :(

there is no way this recipe is correct. I followed exactly and these are so sweet. no balance at all. not knocking it, just no way to eat these, the cookie part has sooo my sugar, 2 of these with cream filling was just too much. any suggestions? can I use less sugar, and also my cookies were greasy and flat. just a mess and I followed the recipe exactly

Great cookie recipe! Try it with chocolate ermine frosting for the filling! Much less sweet and great consistency!

Delicious! My family loved this recipe. I did use browned butter and skipped the lines of chocolate on top, but they were delicious!

Your Butter crunch cookie recipe is my Go to! My husband absolutely loves those cookies. cookies were easy to whip up, but the thin batter spread so much and then I used a cutter to cut matching size cookies. so they look nothing like your picture. way to hard to just bake them in exact same size circles.
