These cookies are amazing! Lol. Making these for our granddaughters when they visit us for the holidays. I got through the recipe to the point of food coloring and realized I didn’t have any green so I improvised and used red to make pink batter and called them ‘elf’ cookies. They’re going to love them either way. Thank you for sharing.

In reply to Jeannie Smith. I'm not sure of something else red and green but you can always substitute white chocolate chips or semisweet chocolate chips could work. They won't have the same color pop. :)

I love to bake. Anytime I go to my friends house they request my pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I decided to change it up last Christmas and made these. They were hesitant but once they tried them they loved them! I will be making them an again this year!
Question any suggestions to replace the M&Ms…one friend is allergic to peanuts so consequently they have to stay away from them.

I made these for my daughter and her son, because they are such Grinch fans. That is the theme of their home this year for Christmas. Well, big mistake. I wound up keeping all of the cookies for my household and I guess I will just have to bake a batch for her and just let her taste mine. I am not a big fan of mint in my cookies, so I just added some extra vanilla extract. They are delicious. Soft and chewy on the inside and crunchy around the edges. I did not have enough M&Ms to add on top when finished baking while still warm, which would have made them prettier, but they still tasted perfect. Next time I will add extra on the outside, for presentation purposes.

I made these and there great but my green color looks much lighter after baking, I used a green gel food coloring?!
