I just made the vanilla and it is so good! I’m excited to try the strawberry and chocolate plus experiment with other flavors and add-ins. Thank you!

In reply to Nancy Gallagher.

Hi Nancy,

I was wondering the same thing as I tried a different recipe with the full can and also found it too sweet. I am pleased to report that I used this recipe today with half of the recommended amount of SC milk and it turned out fabulous! still got a nice creamy texture but less sweet. I added a chocolate swirl to mine so it’s still sweet but not overpowering. I hope it works out for you too in case you decide to try again.

Thanks for the recipe! I made a half-batch of strawberry yesterday and it’s excellent. BTW, I added a little strawberry extract to the mix. 😉

Hi Ann! It’s like a regular ice cream when you go to scoop it. The cream could potentially leave a little film but I wouldn’t consider it a big issue with this recipe. 🙂

Made this with real cherries and dark chocolate chunks

Thank you so much for trying my recipe, Lindsay! I’m so glad you enjoyed it so much! You can typically find the serving information just above the ingredients in the purple box. A serving here is about 3/4 cup. 🙂

Absolutely delish! So happy I found this recipe. Re: nutritional info: it says “1 serving” but doesn’t say how much one serving is. Is it 1/2 cup? 3/4 cup? Less? More? Thank you!

Hi Nancy! I haven’t personally tried it. It would be an experiment for sure. It would be less sweet, but the ice cream will also be “fluffier” when done. Let me know how it goes if you try it. 🙂

This is good but a bit on the sweet side for us. Is there a way to cut back on the SC milk?

This is the first time I’ve made ice cream and the recipe using this process is so simple! The first batch I made I used frozen crushed Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (I still used the vanilla bean paste in each batch), the second batch for my daughter and her family I used mini peanut butter M&M’s with crushed pretzels, third batch I used crushed Butterfinger which I found in the baking aisle. Tonight I made a half batch using our own honey with sea salt. The sad part about all of this ice cream-making is I don’t eat it! (but not because I don’t like it, lactose intolerant here)😊

This is now the only recipe I’ll be using! Just made the chocolate. It’s SO creamy, without leaving a film in your mouth like other recipes I’ve tried. I didn’t use a chocolate bar as I didn’t have any, so I just substituted mini semi-sweet chips. They melted beautifully. I sifted the Cocoa through a sieve into the heavy cream so…no lumps. Absolutely delicious ice cream!

I don’t really have a good breakdown. You can just divide the ingredients evenly by however many different flavorings you’d like to put in. 🙂

Hi Mika! It would take some experimenting to figure out how to get that flavor into the ice cream. I just haven’t tried it to give you a good recommendation. 🙁

Hi Julia! I haven’t personally tried it so I can’t say for sure how to do it. I would try stirring it in with the condensed milk, but I just don’t know for sure how it would work. If you do try it I would love to know how it goes. 🙂
