Our family loves orange and cranberry together so I gave the recipe a try for Christmas Day dessert. It was a huge hit! I baked the cake using just 2 eight inch pans and it came out perfect. Everyone wants it again next year. We call our favorite recipes Keepers, and this will be one from now on. I have made many recipes off your site and have been pleased with all. Thank you for what you do.

In reply to Chriselda Torres. Hi Chriselda! You can transfer it over to a blender and blend it briefly. You will want to be careful not to fill your blender too much with the hot liquid. :)

Happy new year! I made the orange cake last night. So light and yummy and a very delicate crumb. The orange flavor is perfect. No cranberries so just made the cake. I used 3 8” pans, in my oven they were baked in 27 min. They sunk a bit in the middle, which may have been either me undermixing or using only 3 pans. But they stacked fine. I made a chocolate mock SMBC and it paired well with the orange cake flavor. Next holiday I hope to try this with the cranberries and cream cheese. Thanks Sam for another great cake recipe.

INCREDIBLE!! This was a lot of work but SO worth it! My family was skeptical when I said I was making this for Christmas, but everyone raved about it. May be my new favorite cake. I also made sugared to decorate it with, and it was so beautiful!

Just popping in with a video idea! I watch most of your youtube videos, but also visit the site for recipes now and then. I would love to know if you have “go-to” or “must have” recipes for Christmas or other holidays…like, you can’t have Christmas without these deserts or recipes lol. For me, Pumpkin pie is a MUST for Thanksgiving, although I made your pecan pie cookies this year (my dad makes our pumpkin pie, so I still had that too!) and they may be getting added to the list!! So good, and I got LOTS of compliments on them. Your no chill sugar cookies are also my go-to for Christmas cookie decorating. Merry Christmas!
