I just made this and omigosh…it’s silky, perfectly chocolatey, and not too sweet. I am taking this cake to a dinner party and can’t wait to hear the compliments!!

I made the icing today, it was great cut the sugar down by a cup though. used it with a homemade chocolate cake from al recipes. I will make it again

In reply to Louise. Hi Louise! It is a cream cheese frosting so I do recommend refrigeration as long as possible. As long as it's not really hot and humid the frosting should hold up. :)

I am wondering how well this frosting will hold up to decorations on the walls of a cake, when at room temp? (forest theme, with thin chocolate bark). Want to make sure the when don’t start falling off my son’s bday cake at the venue! 🙂

Thank you for this! Too many recipes call for chocolate ganache frosting and I just can’t get it right! Tried it twice and both times it lifted and cracked when I tried to cut into the dessert. I love cream cheese frosting and it’s so easy to make. I’m definitely going to try your variation!

I just made this for a yellow cake mix. Yellow cake is the flavor I like the least. But with this frosting, omg it was delicious. I’m just baking a chocolate cake from scratch, and this is the frosting I will be using! I love this frosting
