It’s so helpful not to have to scroll up and down while I’m cooking. Oh, and the chowder is awesome! I used canned chicken and it turned out great!

Yummy and THICK! I used all chicken broth (no water), added 1T apple cider vinegar, extra salt and smoked paprika. Looking at previous reviews, smoked gouda would be fabulous in this! Hubby loves cheese so I added a little shredded to the top of his bowl. Paired nicely with a fresh, homemade loaf of sourdough

We are so happy you loved the soup so much, Roxann! We’ll have to try it with the cognac next time 😊

Made a pot last night. I followed the instructions to a T. The whole family loved it. I used my own homemade chicken stock that I freeze once a week for recipes like this. This chowder is AWESOME!!!! It took me a lot more for prepping than the 25 minutes. It allows, but it was no big deal. I took a chance and made a double recipe and I am so glad I did so we can have leftovers. The only thing I will do next time I make it is add a small amount of Cognac or Brandy before adding the chicken stock.
TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, YOU HAVE TO TRY IT. IT IS DELICIOUS.!!!!
Thanks for the recipe. I could’ve done it without you.

Delish. Didn’t blend anything but I had some small golden creamer potatoes that I microzapped and then mashed up before adding to soup. A little extra bacon too. No milk, just half and half. Used a really rich homemade chicken stock. So good on a cold winter day.

I just made this and it’s so good! I ended up adding some ancho chili powder and I really like it! It doesn’t need the chili powder though, it IS really good on its own.

I like that you list the amount of each ingredient again with the instructions. This prevents the need to go back and forth with the recipe. Thanks! 👍🏽

Hi Erin! Thank you for trying my recipe! I hope you love it! I only blend half the soup to keep some of the other parts for texture. You could blend all of it if you choose. Enjoy! 🙂

Any reason as to why you only blend half the soup and not all of it? Just curious before I get to that step!

I like chunky chowder. This recipe fell a bit flat. I added shredded cheese and smoked Gouda. Something was still missing. Maybe Worcestershire sauce? I’ll keep tweaking it or find another recipe to compare.

Yum! This was amazing, my husband loved it too. I wanted a little more heat so I added a small can of hot hatch green chilies and it was perfect. I also love how you write out recipes on here, I find it so helpful to have the quantities of the ingredients listed below the instruction, saves so much scrolling! I’ll definitely be making this again 🙂

I cooked my chicken separately then added it in to be boiled with everything else then used my immersion blender to mix it all together. It seemed to my family that it had a almost grits like texture to it when I served it. Flavors were great but just not a fan of the “gritty” taste.

We didn’t think it was spicy at all actually. If you don’t want the spice I would suggest still adding the jalapeño but omit the seeds as they hold the heat anyway.

Jess, you mentioned you made it for your niece. Did you add the peppers? I’m worried it will be too spicy, what did you think? I don’t like “spice.”

I put my own spin on this. I baked and shredded the chicken and added it at the end with bacon. Plus I used green bell peppers and red. It’s the second time I’ve made this and everyone loves it.

I did try it and it was amazing. Just added an extra cup of broth to hydrate the corn during cooking. No extra time needed. Thank you for the excellent recipe!

I honestly have never tried it so I can’t say for sure how it would work. You may want to rehydrate it before using it.
