Exactly what I wanted. This cake was not complicated to make. Turned out perfectly. Making a jam rather than berries between the layers is my preference. The frosting is my new favorite – light and fluffy and not so sweet, but also not complicated to make. Everyone that tried it raved about it! 5 stars!

Hi Kathy! I haven’t tried adding gelatin to this frosting. I think it could work, but I can’t say for sure how to do it.

What is the exact time please? They are thin so I think 30 minutes is too much.

Thank you for making and sharing this recipe. I am making this in a 9×13 casserole dish. I am using your times and gonna go from there. I use this recipe for my son who is 20 today and my husband’s birthdays.

This is interesting because when I watched the video, she says if you bake all three at once, it’s 22-25 minutes.

Hi Lisa! I’m so glad you enjoyed it so much! This is a softer frosting by nature. I haven’t tried adding milk powder so I can’t say for sure how that would work.

You could make it in a 9 x 13, make sure to not over fill your pan. I’m not sure on a bake time. I’m not sure what you would do with the filling if you bake it in a pan like that. The filling is really a big part of the cake. You can pipe the frosting, but it is a softer frosting so you won’t be able to do really intricate designs with it. πŸ™‚

This was INCREDIBLE – I’m considering this as our wedding cake!

That being said, I wish the frosting was a bit more stable. I’ve heard you can add milk powder for this – any advice or guidance on whether this work work & how much, or any other suggestions? Thanks!

I want to make this for my daughter’s birthday next week. Can I bake this into a sheet cake? Also, would I be able to pipe pretty well with this frosting? I like the idea of lightly-sweetened for my 4-yr-old birthday girl πŸ™‚

Thank you. Preparing myself for the bake today, I had just reread your entire recipe and noticed my question on tips was answered in the cake assembly section. Sorry. We’ll be celebrating my sons 32nd Birthday with your Chantilly cake this evening.

Hi Robin! You can use 9 inch pans, but we’re not sure on the bake time. It will probably be a few minutes less πŸ™‚

Hi Robin! We actually don’t recommend making the frosting in advance. The consistency is best when used immediately after preparing.
