Thank you so much for your support, Nancy! I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying everything so much! This is an older recipe. I have been working on improving everything so you will see storage instructions on newer recipes. These can be stored at room temperature for 3-5 days in an air tight container at room temperature. πŸ™‚

For the Caramelitas are these stored at room temperature? How many days and could these be put into the freezer with the same texture when thawed?

The Coke a Cola cake is so decendent!!!!

Hi Nancy! Without being familiar with the sauce you are talking about I can’t say for sure. I would think it would work though. πŸ™‚

Can I use already prepared caramel sauce?
Thank you!

Hi Jackie! You would want to increase the recipe by 50% to fit in a 9 x 13. I think the caramel bits would work, but I’m not sure how many you would need. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

I also have found Kraft caramel bits The package is 11 ounces. Would one or two of them work for this recipe versus opening 75 caramels?

It was so good. Your recipes have never failed me, but you really knocked it out of the ballpark on this one, Sam!

Hi JoAnne! They are soft chewy caramel squares. A lot of different companies make them. I think these were made by Kraft. πŸ™‚

Thanks!

Hi Sarah! If you make my caramel sauce and make the thicker version (notes on bottom of recipe), it could work. It will sink to the bottom of the pan a bit. It is still good, but just know it will sink a bit. You could potentially try the topping from my millionaires shortbread instead, but I haven’t tried baking that in a dessert. πŸ™‚

Hi Shiloh! You could potentially try evaporated milk, but without having tried it myself, I can’t say for sure how it would turn out.

Hi Leslie! Unfortunately my experience with using caramel sauce here is that it’s too thin and bakes out, which is why I use the actual caramels.

Hi Imre! You could try making the caramel from our millionaire’s shortbread and see if that works. We haven’t tried this ourselves, so we’re not 100% sure how they’d turn out. If you do try it, would you let us know what you think?
