I use the vinegar/milk method for buttermilk. Once I mix the wet and dry together, I leave the batter sit for 5-10 minutes and let the chemical reaction happen between the baking soda and vinegar, this makes a bubbly batter that will make the fluffiest pancakes you’ll ever have.

I have been making this recipe for years and my entire family loves them. I cook then in a little more oil than normal so they have a slightly crispier outside. Every time we go to a restaurant for breakfast everyone always wonders why no one makes pancakes like these. This recipe has ruined restaurant pancakes for us :)!

The pancakes were delicious, light and fluffy. It was slightly sweet. Did not need to use syrup and eaten as a flat biscuit. But tasted great with syrup. They also froze well, defrosted and microwaved and still fluffy.

I have tried numerous buttermilk pancake recipe and this one is a winner!
The recipe is easy and the pancakes are light and very flavourful! We love the taste and texture! No restaurant makes pancakes as light and tasty as these.
I may be making them for our next pancake breakfast at my church!

I needed a recipe to use up some buttermilk after making butter. I’m going to give these a try, given all of these great reviews.
Just 1 question, the nutrition guide says for a 18″ pancake, that’s huge haha. Should that be 8″?

I don’t normally have buttermilk in the fridge, but had to buy some for a coleslaw recipe for 4th of July party. Wanted something different than toast and coffee this morning and googled “buttermilk pancakes” and came upon your recipe. It was PERFECTION, plain and simple. The only change I made is that I used salted butter since I didn’t have the unsalted kind on hand. I made a half batch and we ate every bit, part with butter and maple syrup, the rest with home canned peaches on top. I’m bookmarking your recipe and will never look for another recipe, yours is perfect. Thank you!!!!!

These are the perfect pancake. I’ve been trying for years to find a recipe that I like, and this is the one! They’re actually fluffy, flavorful, and somehow cook more easily than other recipes I’ve tried. I’m not sure why this one works so well, but it does.
