This butter chicken recipe is restaurant quality for sure! So yummy … even better on the 2nd day! I didn’t have coriander so I substituted a Vindaloo spice mix I had which contained coriander as a leading ingredient. It worked great as a substitute. I love Indian food, so I made sure to try this recipe. Glad I did!

This was SO good! I used diced tomatoes instead of whole and half & half instead of heavy cream bc that what I had on hand. The sauce seemed a bit thin so I added 1-2 tbsp of tomato paste. The flavor was excellent, and the family liked it. I want to make it again next week. Thanks Sam!

Oh my gosh, Sam! I have tried so many butter chicken recipes and even took a stab at inventing my own because I just couldn’t find a good one. Your recipe is not good. It is fabulous! I used coconut cream (we’re watching our cholesterol) and we couldn’t detect a coconut flavour. Everything was amazing. Thank you so much!

This was really good and easy to make!!! There was a ton of flavor. I marinated my chicken thighs around the 24 hours maybe a little more!

Thank you Sam, for another excellent recipe! I sincerely appreciate the clarity and reliability of your recipes. You and Chef John are my favorites!

One tip for others: pay attention to the size of your canned tomatoes. I meant to double the recipe and didn’t realize that I had two 28 oz cans of tomatoes, not 14 oz cans! So I quadrupled the remaining sauce ingredients, simmered with the chicken I had, and saved the extra sauce for a future batch of butter chicken. Oops!
