I am a newly retired man and new to baking, I just wanted to take a moment to say I absolutely love your recipes! This one for the burger buns is great. I made them into slider buns (15 buns in a 9×13 dish). They were soft and buttery yet had good structure and didn’t fall apart. If time permits, I will never buy buns again. Thank you so much for the time you put into your recipes!

I made the sloppy Joe recipe of yours so I tried these burger buns to go with it. Both were so delicious! Sugar Spun Run is my go to for recipes. Especially when I am baking.

Do you think this same recipe would work for hot dog buns?

In reply to Sunny. Hi Sunny! These should be a soft and fluffy bun, think something similar to a brioche bun. If they are too crumbly there may have been too much flour in the dough or they could have potentially been over-baked. :)

Hi Sam,
I should start out saying I’m petrified of making bread, but I’ve done it…lol.

Shame on me for not watching the video first, because I probably needed to add more bread flour, but they turned out beautifully from the lookof them. My only concern is that they turned out so very soft inside, like what I would consider a dinner roll vs a bun. Are the buns supposed to be so light and soft? Or are they supposed to be more on the dense side? I’m thinking I messed something up, because there’s no way these could hold anything without collapsing. Help!

The absolute BEST hamburger bun I’ve ever had. They were so easy to make. The flavor and texture are perfect. (I did use SAF instant yeast since it was all I had.) Thank you!!!!!

Using honey worked great! The buns rose so beautiful. I could have made 12 buns, rather than 10! They were tasty, held the Hamburger BBQ, and received lots of compliments. I’m making them again tomorrow for another gathering! Thank you.
