In reply to Sarah. I'm so sorry to hear this happened, Sarah! This typically happens when you melt the marshmallows. You want the heat to be on low and you want to do it slowly, otherwise they will turn out very hard. :(

Not sure what I did wrong but these came out way too crispy and hard – they shattered and were crumbly when I tried to cut them.

If you save 25% of the butter to mix in after browning, the marshmellow combines better with the browned butter.

Made this twice first time made it for Easter for my grandbabies, after I added the cereal and gentle stirred then I folded in mini eggs and extra marshmallows, kids loved it. Second time I just folded extra marshmallows in, loved the addition of the flakey sea salt and the brown butter is just amazing. Sweet and salty always a winner!

While I was doing the final stir, I kept thinking how my mom worked herself ragged stirring the traditional Rice Krispie treats. These seemed so easy to mix. So,I read the cereal box recipe. They only use 3 T of butter! Your recipe has 8 T! What a delicious difference and it makes it so easy! The browned butter and salt really elevates them! The tip not to smash them into the 13×9 was top notch!

Just made these they are delicious! Your recipes never fail 🙂 I made it exactly as it and used high-quality butter land high-quality vanilla like you mentioned and they are amazing. The brown butter really gives it that different nutty taste. Eating half at home and taking the rest tomorrow for my coworkers :)!
