I made a vegan version of this recipe I replaced the mayo with vegan grape seed mayo and the bacon with vegan bacon and the cheese with vegan cheese and it was amazing

This is a wonderful spring and summer dish. I could actually eat it all year long. The dressing is absolutely perfect. Not too tart and not too sweet. I like to make it the night before, but I’ve also made it very early in the morning to serve that evening!

I always mean to leave reviews and then it usually slips my mind, but I made this salad and just tried some and wow! It is delicious! Perfect for a summer day. I used apple cider vinegar because that is what I had. I'm thinking of ways to make this my own..maybe add more veggies and/or beans next time? As the recipe is, though, is amazing

Love this recipe. I roasted some seasoned shiitake mushrooms with smoked paprika salt pepper and soy sauce to replace the bacon for a vegetarian salad.

In reply to Terri Calderon. I'm so glad everyone enjoyed it, Terri! I haven't personally tried it. You could omit the bacon, but there's a good bit of dairy in this recipe. You would need to find dairy free substitutes and I just don't use these products often so it's hard for me to give a good recommendation. :(

I made it and loved it. However, I dunked my broccoli into boiling water for about 30 seconds and then into an ice bath and drain till dry. I worked in the back of a supermarket. I have to disinfect it. I know what goes on back there.

I hate broccoli salad, I’ve tried so many different ones and it was never to my taste. A friend made this one and I tasted it to be nice. OH BOY was this a discovery!!! I make it so often in the summer I have to buy mayo at costco. Sometimes I feel adventurous and I use pumpkin seeds or add a bit of cauliflower, but the original recipe is GREAT as it is!!

Give this broccoli salad a chance and you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve made the salad in the past and thought it would be nice to bring it to a party this weekend. I read all the reviews and took them to heart. I used far less mayo than sour cream but kept the combined quantity the same as listed in the recipe, a lot less sugar (just one small packet of stevia for a double recipe), and I blanched the broccoli. I used a tiny pinch of baking soda in the blanching water (I learned this from a professional chef many years ago) which made the broccoli a lovely bright green and contributed to the attractiveness of the salad as a whole. I immediately plunged the broccoli into icy cold water after the blanching process. Everyone enjoyed the salad, and I willingly shared the recipe. Thank you so much for the inspiration!!
