Hi Donna! Honestly, everyone will have slight variations in their measurements, just due to the nature of how it was measured, or the product in particular. For my site I use 125g for flour, 200g for sugar.

I followed the directions for recipe exactly (but doubled it) and they turned out fantastic. I did a double recipe so I could do two different add ins. One of which was cut up Skor bars…. these particular ones flattened more than the other dough (m&m). I suspect the toffee or something melting made them flatten out. I left the dough in the fridge overnight. I am looking forward to experimenting more with this recipe. Thank you!

In doing so I wanted to print a chart consisting of most of the ingredients I would use in baking. King Arthur has a large chart, but when comparing it to your list on your site of flour, butter, cocoa, etc., I noticed the scale measurements were not the same. This was also true of many other charts. None of them actually agreed. For instance:
Flour Sugar Cocoa
Your chart: 125gm 125gm 100gm
King Arthur chart: 120gm wh 198gm 84gm
brn 213gm

Could you please head me in the right direction for an accurate chart? Thank you.

Hi Aleta! The refrigeration step is important to develop the flavor and prevent the cookies from spreading. 🙂

Hi Steven! 1 cup of packed brown sugar is only 200 grams. I this is a standard measurement across my website. This number actually aligns with the amounts on the back of the bag. 🙂

I’m sorry to hear this happened, Dani! I hope they turn out better with the adjustments for your small oven. 🙂

Cookies baked too quickly at 375 even when checking regularly, the bottoms burned before the top was set, but I have a small, annoying electric oven. I will try at 350.

This is the first oatmeal cookie recipe that didn’t spread into a flat mess for me! I scooped them first, put on a parchment lined sheet and popped in the freezer for an hour before baking them on parchment lined sheet, 6 to a tray for exactly 12 minutes…perfection! I do add raisins and they remained plump, the cookies were buttery, chewy, and delish! Thank you for saving the oatmeal cookie for my family!

I’m so sorry to hear this happened! Did you make any substitutions? Did you weigh your flour? Is it possible the cookies were slightly over-baked?

I’m so glad you are enjoying these cookies! Are you weighing all of your ingredients? Did they chill long enough in the refrigerator? Is your oven temperature accurate?

I made these as the recipe is written, and they are the best oatmeal cookies I have ever made. They are soft and chewy and the flavor is so good.

The dough sat in the fridge for 1.5 days. I let them sit on the counter for an hour before I started scooping them. I made them BIG using an ice cream scoop, then flattened the top a little. My oven is wonky so I turned the heat down to 350, turned the pan half way through baking.

Thank you for this recipe.

Hi Nessa! I’m really sorry to hear this! It sounds like something was accidentally mis-measured, or the cookies were baked too long. Did you weigh your flour? Make any substitutions? 🙁
