I have been making pecan sticky buns for years and never heard of using mashed potatoes. Wow! What an improvement. Best cinnamon rolls ever. I plan to use this recipe for my next sticky buns.

Hi Yaritza! We have instructions for making the dough in advance in the recipe notes 🙂

Can I let the dough rise in the fridge over night? And then take it out the next day and roll it out, shape, and then do its second rise?

This recipe is so, SO, good! I made them for my niece’s baby shower brunch on Saturday. They were so good I literally them again on Sunday bc my husband guilted me into it, since he didn’t get any!! I made them in a larger dish and cut them into 15 rolls and they still turned out amazing.

I just discovered you, and I am hooked! Salted butter – check; sense of humor (“I told you not to embarrass me”) – check, entertaining to watch/nice voice – check, even great outtakes – check! You’re a doll! I have been using King Arthur Flour’s cinnamon roll recipe at Christmas-time for neighbor gifts, using a tangzhong , which is fabulous, but I will give these a try. Thanks!

Hi Alexis! Did you weigh your flour? You may have needed a touch more flour in your dough.

Hi Alexis! You just need them to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. You don’t need to let them come to room temperature and then sit for 30 minutes. They may not fully reach room temperature in that 30 minutes. 🙂

I LOVE this recipe. I do find that its pretty wet. When I watch your video, I see that yours does not stick to the bottom of the bowl and it is pretty cohesive? What could be going wrong ?

When you say let them sit (After being in fridge overnight) for 30 minutes at room temp do you mean let them warm up to room temp then sit for an additional 30 minutes or do you mean let them sit for a full 30 minutes then bake? Would I expect them to still be cold after the 30 minutes and have puffed up only slightly?

I ended up cutting them too big. i cut them down which kind of messed them up. Then something came up. I couldn’t cook them right then. I froze half and left half in refrigerator to cook the next morning. That morning was crazy and I couldn’t cook them. I finally froze those left. I finally thought I could cook them. I sat out 4 of them. They didn’t get cooked until 2 days later. They were the still best cinnamon rolls I have ever made. I can’t wait to try them fresh from start to finish!

Hi Mike! I haven’t tried adding raspberry to the filling so I’m hesitant to advise if anything would need to change. Let me know how it turns out if you try it. 🙂

These cinnamon rolls were amazing! I was unsure how they would taste with the potato but they are a game changer for sure. I did double the frosting batch as we like extra frosting. Can’t wait to make the next batch!

I just tried this recipe tonight and this was, by far, THE BEST cinnamon roll that I’ve ever had! It was soooo pillowy soft and absolutely scrumptious! I will no longer be making it any other way. The mashed potato was a game changer! 5 Stars for sure!!! Soooo good!

I’ve tried making cinnamon rolls SO many times, but I just can’t seem to get the dough rolled out evenly. It’ll be thick in some spots and really thin in other spots. Anyone that can comment with tips, it would be greatly appreciated 🥰

They come out so much bigger!
